When I tell people that I’m a Weight Loss Nutritionist, the first thing they ask me is: “What’s the best diet? I need to shift a few pounds…”
They’re ASSUMING you need to go on a diet and that, as a Nutritionist, that’s what I’d advise🙄
BUT this couldn’t be further from the truth.
BECAUSE … DIETS DON’T WORK!
Yes… you read that right – diets don’t work!
I’ve lost count of how many diets I’ve tried over the years. Everything from Keto, Paleo, Dukan, Calorie Counting and Weight Watchers – you name it, I’ve tried it!
BUT these diets didn’t work because:
#1 – They ONLY focus on how quickly you can lose weight. They DON’T teach you how you can easily create healthy habits that are sustainable long term AND fit around YOUR lifestyle.
#2 – They don’t teach you how to recognise when you’re hungry and when you’re full.
#3 – They don’t take into account what’s going on in your body.
When I tried these diets, I would be lying if I didn’t tell you that I did lose some weight BUT it never stayed off! I was just another “quick fix”.
I was left feeling like I had a broken body. I was at a total loss about what foods I should or shouldn’t be eating and what foods would be great for both my body and for losing weight.
There’s no denying that trying to lose weight isn’t easy BUT you need to stop giving in to the over-marketed ways these companies try to sell you weight loss.
Weight loss isn’t easy BUT if you want to lose weight safely and sustainably you need to stop dieting!
